Spring Bank Holiday: Walking in Bad Reichenhall, Bavaria Germany

From Friday 25 to Tuesday 29 May 2018 – You have seen Bavaria in winter, now enjoy it in the spring.  See details in the Autumn newsletter.  Organiser: DominiqueWe are staying in a lovely town near Berchtesgaden, Bad Reichenhall: https://www.bad-reichenhall.de/home. Bad Reichenhall is a spa town famed for its white gold (salt), the treatment of respiratory diseases and the world’s largest open-air alpine inhalatory (Intrigued? Come and see for yourself). The town also has a philharmonic orchestra which celebrates its 150th birthday in 2018. It is within the Berchtesgaden district and is renowned for the quality of its air, which contains very little pollen, allergens and pollutants. Since 2010, the entire county of Berchtesgadener Land became a UNESCO biosphere region, see https://www.berchtesgadener-land.com/home

B&B accommodation will be in Hotel Vierjahreszeiten (Four Seasons), close to the railway station; and it has a cat.   The closest airports are Salzburg or Munich – which is a little further. Information on the flights will be sent soon. The walking will offer options for hikers and strollers. There are bus and train services and plenty to do for those who do not wish to walk.
